Happy Happy! That’s how I feel because you are here! Seriously, we have all heard the saying, ‘Be the change you want to see in this world’, but how many of us really do that?

With obesity, diabetes, heart problems, and much more on the rise, being healthy is a part of that change. . How many people can really bring about positive change when they don’t even take care of themselves?

Being healthy is much more than just physical health, it is also emotional, spiritual, and mental. By the term ‘healthy’, I am talking about body, mind, and soul. For wholeness there must be a balance of all three.

In this blog I am attempting to give you some tools to choose from in order to promote your own wholeness, your own vital health.

Preventative health care is of course by far the best way to live. We live in a toxic environment both in the physical world and in our thought world. There is much negativity in the world but there is also a huge growing positive energy rising up that will enable all who participate to truly be the change.

In whatever you see here on this blog, don’t just jump in and do everything you read, follow peace, follow wisdom. You can tell when something is right for you when the subject just gels with something inside.

I am by far not an expert on anything written in this blog. Also in saying that, I want you to know that every post I write, I put as much research into it until I feel peace about giving you as much information as I can in a few posts. I am hoping that as time goes on, there will be readers who will share their real life experiences with us all and we can share this journey of health and wholeness.

The Importance of Probiotics.

When I was having some health challenges I knew that it had something to do with my stomach and intestines. With the addition of adding probiotics into my body, I started feeling better within days.

Our gut is the healthline of our bodies. Our stomach and 80 percent of your immune system is located in your digestive system, and a robust, well-functioning immune system is your number one defense  against all disease. Maintaining a healthy gut flora is far more important than you might think.

At any point in time there are about 500 different species of bacteria living inside you – totaling about sixty trillion bacteria. Some of these bacteria are referred to as “good,” and some as “bad”. The key to good health is not to completely eradicate bad bacteria, but to maintain a healthy balance. Things like medications, diet, diseases, and your environment can upset that balance. The most common way to upset the balance of good and bad bacteria is the use of antibiotics. The good bacteria in your gut are very susceptible to damage caused by antibiotics.

When good bacteria is lacking, a number of bacteria-related health problems such as digestive upset, headaches, sluggishness, irritability, cadidiasis, and even anxiety can ensue. Good bacteria in the gut is important to keep the immune system primed to more effectively fight infection from invading pathogenic bacteria. (1)

What are Probiotics?

The term probiotics comes from the Greek word “for life.”  Anti means “contrary or against.”  So antibiotics means “against life.” Antibiotics kill bacteria…the bad and the good. It’s kind of like the movie line that says: ‘Kill them all and we will sort them out later!’

Most probiotics are bacteria, similar to those that occur in your gut naturally. Probiotics help keep our flora in our intestines in balance. Probiotics are essential to a fully-functioning immune system, and can be increased or restored through the intake of certain food products and supplements.

Symptoms of lack of good bacteria.

How to protect you gut and bring probiotics into your diet:

I have always added probiotic supplements to my diet but then learned of the different ways of incorporating foods that build healthy flora into my body.

Fermented foods are the most effective source for providing probiotics for your system. Yogurt, sauerkraut, Kefir, Kombacha, buttermilk, and other fermented foods are the best way to get these healthy bacteria into your body.

Kefir: One of the best and least expensive ways to get healthy bacteria into your diet is to obtain raw milk and convert it to kefir. The bacteria and beneficial yeast in kefir can actually colonize the intestinal tract, and this makes it far superior to yogurt. For directions to making your own, go here.

Goat Milk Products: .Goat’s milk and cheese are particularly high in probiotics like thermophillus, bifudus, bulgaricus and acidophilus.

Yogurt: Look for brands made from goat milk that has been infused with extra forms of probitoics like lactobacillus or acidophilus. Some of your store bought yogurts contain sugars including fructose, corn starch, and modified corn starch. There are other questionable ingredients added for flavor and consistency. Homemade yogurt is much better for you and easy to make. I have to add honey or fruit to mine to sweeten it up. Homemade yogurt that is fermented for 24 hours, as recommended in the book ‘Breaking the Vicious Cycle‘, will have an average concentration of 3 billion cfu of yogurt. What does this mean? Well, if you were to eat a small bowl  of 24 hour fermented homemade yogurt, you would receive 1.5 trillion beneficial bacteria – 100 times more bacteria than a 15 billion capsule of supplemented probiotics. Sauerkraut: Last year, BBC News reported that sauerkraut could cure the avian flu (bird flu) and other studies show it reduces the risk of breast cancer. If buying commercial sauerkraut, choose high quality from the refrigerated section of your store. Best choice: make it yourself. Here is just one recipe.

Kimchi: An Asian form of pickled sauerkraut, kimchi is an extremely spicy and sour fermented cabbage, typically served alongside most meals in Korea. Besides from beneficial bacteria, Kimchi is also a great source of beta-carotene, calcium, iron and vitamins A, C, B1 & B2. Kimchi is one of the best probiotic foods you can add to your diet, assuming you can handle the spice, of course.

In conclusion:

The owner of a health food store told me at one time, that if she could only choose one supplement to take, it would be probiotics.  As a part of your overall health care, I would say that getting probiotics in your diet should be one of your top priorities. It is a daily addition to mine.

Choosing Happiness.

I am a fan of reading NDEs, (near death experiences). Now some might find that a little strange but I find it really quite encouraging and life giving. There are differences in ndes especially when the individuals come from different cultures and different beliefs, but they all seem to end up very very similar. They all seem to come back with the message that the most important thing in life is love. Not only love for others but love for oneself.

A common train of thought amongst them is that, fear and the lack of love for oneself is in large a major cause of disease and illnesses coming into our bodies. They say that fear and stress are major doorways to which these conditions can enter into our lives.

The lack of self love, they say, comes from not really understanding who we really are and that we are more than the five sense beings that we have lived our whole lives experiencing. This lack of self identity and lack of self love puts us living an external life of fear while trying to please others and in turn try to please ourselves. The self that we can naturally gravitate towards is the self that lives life as ruled by external circumstances, while our true identity lives life from a more inner role seeing that we are infinite beings experiencing an earthy existence.

When we recognize our selves as these infinite beings it enables us to ‘tap’ into the energies that flow from the earth and the universe. These energies and these vibrations are not only life giving but healing.

This may all seem a little strange or foreign to you but coming from one who has dealt with health challenges and was struggling to find the answers, this new knowledge opened a whole new world of hope to me. AND as I researched it all, it was all backed scientifically. We create what we believe. Our external world mirrors what is going on internally. This very statement can make you angry as you are struggling to just stay alive. I do not say it anger but hopefully to give hope that if we in even a small part contributed to our health crisis, then we can take charge and contribute to our total healing.

As I continued to eat well, take natural supplements, and do all I knew to do for healing of my body, I would tend to hit plateaus. When I learned of how our inner beliefs effect our bodies I started to let go of focusing on my pain and symptoms and started doing what I needed to do in order to find my peace and identity from within. From that point on I started to see my body correspond with my beliefs. I am not saying positive thinking, I am saying ‘new beliefs.’

Also I want to send you over to a blog that I dabble in here and there, where I did a rice experiment that shows the effect that our words and our thoughts have on water…we are made up primarily of water.

I hope that this in some way encourages you, but most important I hope that this can be a seed to you remembering your true self and finding the peace and the power inside to begin your healing.

How To Stop A Panic/Anxiety Attack.

I have had some challenges with anxiety attacks. Although at the time it was happening, I didn’t realize  what it was. I thought for sure I had something dreadfully wrong with me.

As I have learned more about our bodies, our mind, and our emotions, I could see that what I was suffering from was not some mystery ailment that was sure to kill me, but what I was challenged with were anxiety attacks. These would come on even when I was asleep and wake me with a jolt! Our bodies are wonderful fortune tellers and can tell you physically when something emotionally is out of whack.

For me, it was a culmination of things happening over the past year. I thought that by putting a smile on my face and thinking positively then all my stresses would just dissipate. My body was there to tell me that what I was doing was not working.

There are many natural things that you can do for Panic/Anxiety attacks. If you are home, a cold shower does wonders. Sounds to simple, but you should try it.

Yoga and meditation are wonderful aids to helping with this challenge.

The most important thing to know is:

#1) You are not alone. There are others out there with the same challenge. You do not have some mystery disease.

#2) Don’t let it control you. If it can cause you fear then it is controlling you and it will makes the symptoms worse.

#3) Take the fear away by educating yourself on it. I feel most comfortable reading forums where real everyday people share what they go through and what has or has not helped them. Earth Clinic is one of my favorite web places to go to when I am looking into health matters.

Watch a tumor being healed in less then three minutes.

I believe in the power of energy. We can have an effect on our own health with either the positive or negative energy that we feed it. We can also effect others by our energy.

How about being healed by energy? Maybe you would believe it if you saw it with your own eyes. In this video you will see a ‘surgery’ on a tumor. This video is an exert of a speech made by Gregg Braden. I have not watched the whole video but after watching the exert, I wanted to share it with you. It will really make you thin!

We could say that it is healing of the future but really this is for now!

What is your fruit sticker telling you?

When washing your fruit and veggies…(you do wash your fruit and veggies right?!) Anyways, you will notice that your produce has those little stickies that are placed there to identify the item and the cost. BUT that is not all that is on those little stickies!

That little sticky holds the PLU code (price look up code) This code also tells you how your produce was grown. By reading the PLU code, you can tell if the fruit was organically grown,  produced with chemical fertilizers, fungicides, and herbicides ,or genetically modified!

7 out of 10 items in grocery store shelves contain ingredients that have been genetically modified. That doesn’t bother some people but for others that are trying to improve their lives by getting the most out of real foods, gmo (genetically modified) is not a choice that they desire. So let’s have a quick little lesson on the codes of your food and you can make your own very wise choices.

1) PLU stickers that have 4 digits and begin with a “3″ or “4″: produce is conventionally grown. This means that this produce was sprayed with weed killers and chemical pesticides.

2) PLU stickers that have 5-digits and start with “8″: produce was genetically engineered (man intervened by manipulating the genes to produce a larger or brighter colored food). This produce may have been chemically treated.

3) PLU stickers that have 5-digits and start with “9″: produce was raised organically. You can be sure that this produce was not treated with any chemicals.

Also of the 12 most contaminated foods, 6 are fruits: apples, strawberries, peaches, domestic nectarines, imported grapes and domestic blueberries. These items you may want to buy from your local food co-0p or an organic farmer.

The vegetables least likely to test positive for pesticides are onions, sweet corn, asparagus, sweet peas, eggplant, cabbage, sweet potatoes and mushrooms.(1)

So what are we to do? If at all possible garden, buy organic in the supermarket, or buy from your ‘trusty’ local farmer. If you buy from a conventional store, make sure you wash and soak your produce. On apples and cucumbers…peel.  I use food grade hydrogen peroxide(3%)  to soak my produce in. Colliodal Silver (part 2)

As we learned from (part 1) of the Colloidal Silver posts, this natural antibiotic is something I feel every person should educate themselves on. After educating yourself on this I hope that you will start using Colloidal Silver to not only heal yourself but also as a preventive matter. That being said, one thing I can tell you when doing any research on Colloidal Silver….there is so much varying opinions on it! It has been an absolute maze trying to find truth amongst marketing! I will do my best to share with you unbiased what I have learned.

Colloidal Silver is sold in just about every health food store in America, Canada, Mexico, parts of Europe, and all over the internet.

#1. Is it worth the hassle? YOU BET! British researchers now say that silver compounds are as effective at killing certain cancer cells as a leading chemotherapy drug, but with potentially far fewer side-effects.

#2.. Is Colloidal Silver safe? YES. Despite what you may hear from various ‘official’ sources, if you read what the average normal person who has actually been using this for themselves has said, then you can see the wonderful results from using Colloidal Silver in moderation. By moderation, I mean safe dosages per the Colloidal Silver that you have.

#3 Can I turn blue using colloidal silver?  DOUBT IT. Of the 5 known cases in the US in the last 100 years, one was not colloidal silver at all, but was silver nitrate prescribed by a doctor. Two were from mega doses of homemade silver solution that had other compounds in them (well documented, one being the “blue man” recently in the news), and the last two were homemade solutions and self administered without documentation, (Argyria, turning blue, is the long term, high volume use of large particle silver solutions.) #6. Can’t I just use prescribed antibiotics? SURE

Just remember that while antibiotics can be lifesavers, the misuse of over prescribing has increased the number of drug resistant germs. Colloidal Silver has been known to kill over 650 disease-causing bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, and molds, has no negative side-effects .

Colloidal Silver (part 1)

Near and dear to my heart is Colloidal Silver. I personally believe that every person in your family should have a bottle of Colloidal Silver in cases of illness or emergency.

As I personally have dealt with ugly bacteria while being overseas, Colloidal Silver has been my ‘secret weapon.’ When my daughter was struggling with eczema. I had her spray Colloidal Silver on her rash.  She excitedly called me the next day stating that her patch of eczema was gone! She told me that if she would have known the drastic results of using the C.S., she would have taken a before and after photo.
There are many many people in the U.S. who have  bacteria in their bodies and  have been prescribed triple doses of various antibiotics with the results of not being healed but being sent home hopeless and told to take over the counter acid reducing drugs to make their pain bearable. This is not quality of life.

Let’s look at some history about Colloidal Silver
The knowledge of Colloidal Silver properties dates back to ancient civilizations. Ancient cultures, such as those of Greece and Rome, used Silver as the material to make kitchen utensils or water recipients, as silver  helped retard the growth of microorganisms that spoil food and drinks.

Early American pioneers learned that if they put a silver dollar in a jug of milk, it would  last longer without spoiling. They also kept their silverware (and silver and copper coins) in  water barrels to prevent bacteria and algae.

4) In the CDC’s weekly bulletin, there is a report: 58% of antibiotic prescriptions given to kids and pre-teens during medical office visits are for conditions for which antibiotics are not necessary.
